In December 2006, I graduated from the University of Texas in Austin. I worked hard, lived frugally and saved enough money to start traveling.
I spent two months backpacking through Europe by myself. In January and February, I spent another two months backpacking/roadtripping through Australia, and this coming summer, I'll spend a couple of months backpacking through Central America followed by a couple of months through Southeast Asia.
To be completely honest, I'm surprised I survived. It's common knowledge that I tend to be a little reckless and act on irrational whims.
With that said, I'm hoping this site will be a great resource for anyone planning on doing the same. The "Where I've Been" section contains information about the cities I've been and hostels I've stayed. "Where I'm Going" provides information on things that I hear are pretty cool about places I'm planning on visiting. You'll find stories, tips, and other useful things on my blog. Also, the books and links section is very handy.
Please feel free to email me with any suggestions, commentary, tips, or stories about your travels as well.
